Grandad's Trains is an O Gauge 3 rail layout. It is a very popular and nostalgic layout with lots of movement. The layout is the result of collecting tinplate trains, mainly Hornby, & Bassett Lowke, over a considerable number of years. Some stock dates from the 1920’s to modern issue Corgi (Bassett Lowke) as well as Ace trains. The layout has three continuous 3-rail tracks, built from brass track, with cast chairs and wooden sleepers, with passing loops, enhanced with a good selection of mainly Hornby tinplate buildings and other line side items.

The layout is self-supporting and requires only a single 13amp power supply. Viewing is from front and either side. Insurance value £25,000. Size: 20’ x 9’.

Transportation is by my own car & trailer and usually only involves cost of fuel. However, when loaded, there is only room for myself and one passenger in the car, so a second or third car has to bring any others.
