Welcome
Welcome to the homepage of The Norwich Model Railway Club.
The club traces its history, under various names, over many years, and records exhibiting layouts in as early as 1957!

We aim to foster and further the interests of members and the public in all aspects of railway modelling, Prototype Railways and allied pursuits. Catering for most model railway interests in steam, diesel or electric, historic or modern in 0, 00, and N gauges including tramways. Individually, members have a wider range of modelling interests, e.g. P4, H0, 009 and Z gauge etc. than the existing society layouts.

A more detailed general overview of the club, some of our current layouts and our history may be found here-

The Club Layouts
  • Brooklands Park is definitely the most well known of the club layouts. This 00 gauge Eastern based layout has seen many exhibitions over its twenty year lifespan.
  • Woodford Halse is the second of our UK based 4mm scale layouts, albeit in 00 Finescale.
  • Zweibrucken on the other hand, whilst still being 4mm scale, moves away from the UK, and into the hyper-punctual world of the Swiss railways.
  • The Test Track, while not being a layout in the strictest sense of the word is one of the most endearingly popular club features, being able to accomodate almost any peice of stock!
